This month’s meeting will take a special focus on all things spinning to create local yarn. For folks who are looking to learn more about their options for creating local yarn for your outfit, this meeting will get you on the right track! Featuring, Mary Offord , a fiber artist, spinning instructor and shop owner of Anoka Fiber Works and Deb Coder of Debra McQueen Coder Studio & Fiber Arts, who is a local artist and fiber arts instructor. Mary will talk about Anoka Fiber Works and how it supports local shephards and artists. Both Deb and Mary will provide spinning instruction and demonstrations and time for Q & A afterwords. The event is open to all who are interested in learning more about this challenge to explore our local fibershed
Note about the location: The event will be held at Vernon Oaks Apartments in the event room. The entrance to Vernon Oaks is located directly off of Vernon Ave S. and comes after Villa Way. There will be a large wood and brick sign with the building name and address. There is parking throughout and around the driveway. The entrance to the building will be on the right side of the roundabout driveway. We will have signs posted.
