Our Wool Bar will feature raw wool and yarn samples from the various sheep breeds grown by our local producers as well as samples from rare and heritage breed sheep. Learn about and experience the unique qualities, strengths, and characteristics of each different breed. You will see how each sheep breed differs in staple length, crimp, and texture. To further awaken your senses we will provide relevant wine pairings with a selection of the breeds featured.

While we sip, we will also discuss the environmental impact and importance of preserving these breeds, of supporting breed specific yarn, and supporting your local fibershed.

The cost of the event is $30/person.

Have you ever wanted to grow dye plants or plan your own natural dye garden, but haven't been sure of where to begin?

The Three Rivers Fibershed will hold a workshop on natural dye plants as part of the One Year One Outfit event series, led by Alejandra Sanchez (of @awoolenforest) on Sunday May 19th from 1pm-4pm. Explore the art and practice of growing your own natural dye plants. The workshop will cover everything from starting your own seeds, to caring for your pre-started seedlings, choosing the best plants for your location, as well as some elements of design and planning. We will discuss best practices for harvesting your plants in preparation for dyeing and you will also be able to see examples of the various dye colors produced by some of these plants, to better guide your planning.

You don't necessarily need to have a plot of land to begin, a sunny spot and a large pot will also work. We hope to see you there!

The Three Rivers Fibershed will provide the following plants for sale: Marigold, Coreopsis, Calendula, Rudbeckia, Cosmos, and Hollyhocks.

A Woolen Forest will provide the following seeds for sale: Marigold and Coreopsis.

The cost of the workshop is $10/person.
